Setsubun

先日は英会話で節分の説明をしました。外国人に日本の話をするのは難しい…。簡単に説明するとこんな感じでしょうか。

February 3rd is Setsubun in Japan. On Setsubun, Japanese participate in traditional events to drive away evil spirits and bring in good fortune.
On this day, people throw beans while shouting "Fortune in and demons out.
People eat the same number of beans as their age, wishing for good health. In the Kansai region, people eat rolled sushi to bring them good fortune.
I don't believe in an idle superstition, but I eat rolled sushi on the day. I might be a typical Japanese. :-))
